Joint Entrance Examination Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Aeronautical Maintenance Engineering (JEE AME) is a conducting by National Level Entrance Examination for admission in AME colleges in India. Students get admission in Govt. approved AME colleges in India.

India is the rapidly growing aviation market in the world. Aircraft Engineers are responsible for the safety, security, and maintenance of an aircraft, therefore AME is the backbone of the aviation industry . The Flight Released Certificate (FRC) is signed by the aircraft maintenance engineer. An Indian AME can undertake the job in any airline, any country in the world .

In the aviation sector, safety is an important concern. An aircraft is made of many numerous parts, electrical or electronic system etc. With the time the parts also need maintenance and regular inspection of aircraft have become very important . Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is up skill to examine an aircraft, recognize the problem and solve the issues.

JEEAME 2019 has only one paper. The Exam is conducted in both Hindi and English medium . On the basis of All India Rank of JEEAME 2019 students engage in counseling and confirm their seat in the top Govt approved AME institutions according to candidates score.

Candidates can apply for JEEAME for 3 times . A candidate must be 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects or equivalent AICTE approved 3 years diploma in engineering. NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and Foreign national candidates can also apply. The candidate age must not be more than 26 years during the time of admission.


The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation Govt. Of India managed the AME which is a Two years authorize program. The duration of AME course is 2 years. and 2 year OJT – ON JOB TRAINING in a DGCA Approved Maintenance Organization. The fees of AME course depends on the college to college or the Govt. guidelines; it is Mini 4 Lakhs and Maximum 6 Lakhs. In this program, students are specially instructed to carry out intricate maintenance process including periodical maintenance program and issue the “flight released certificate” for safety before the take off the flight.

Mechanical Stream Aircraft maintenance engineer Repair aircraft, Installation, aircraft radio, Airframes and Engines, and avionic (electronic) and mechanical systems. Avionics stream is the discipline that applies engineering, physics to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain electronic systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines. The AME engineer maintain and repair the various electrical / electronic and structural components of planes and helicopters.


Due to liberalization policies, of the government, there is a continuous growth in the aviation industry in India. Many private airlines such as ‘Indigo’, ‘GoAir’, ‘AirAsia India’, ‘Vistara’, ‘SpiceJet’ etc.. are functioning today with good operating income. As per report with 1,081 aircraft orders, India to be the third largest buyer of passenger planes in the world. To meet all the functional and operational need of the “Airline, Cargo Aircraft, Jets”, there needs an urgent requirement of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. There will be soon 92,850 jobs in Indian aviation industry by 2020 as per Govt. of India evaluation and plan. AME salary package is very high
